May 20, 2026 / Structure Fire 5516 Tennessee Ave. Unincorporated Clarendon Hills
At approximately 1354 hours on Wednesday May 20, 2026, the Tri-State Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 5516 Tennessee Avenue in Unincorporated Clarendon Hills.
Upon arrival, the initial company observed heavy smoke coming from the front of the residence as well as flames from the front windows of the lower level. Crews confirmed that all occupants were out of the residence and then advanced a hose line to the first floor. A second hose line was advanced to the rear of the residence and into the lower level. Heavy fire was extinguished on both the lower level and first floor.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Unfortunately, several family pets were lost in the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
Tri-State Fire District was assisted by units from the Argonne Fire Department, Clarendon Hills Fire Department, Darien-Woodridge Fire District, Downers Grove Fire Department, Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, Pleasantview Fire District, Lemont Fire District, Northwest Homer Fire District, Western Springs Fire Department, Westmont Fire Department, York Center Fire District, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
