May 17, 2026 / Structure Fire 16w070 83rd Street At approximately 1239 hours on Sunday May 17, 2026, the Tri-State Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 16w030 83rd Street in Burr Ridge.

Upon arrival, the initial company observed smoke coming from the rear of 16w070 83rd Street. Crews advanced a hose line to the rear and found an exterior storage building and adjacent wood fencing on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. The fire was contained to the storage shed and fence.

As a precaution, hazardous materials advisors from MABAS Division 10 were called to the scene due to various chemicals that were stored in the shed. The advisors performed air monitoring and inventoried the chemicals that were stored in the shed.  After evaluation, it was determined that there was no need to escalate the alarm and that there was no threat to the environment or surrounding area.

The scene was turned over to a licensed third-party contractor to perform remediation of the shed contents.  A firefighter was transported to Hinsdale Hospital for an injury unrelated to the structure fire.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  No further information is available at this time.

Tri-State Fire District units were assisted at the scene by units from the Argonne Fire Department, Bedford Park Fire Department, Brookfield Fire Department, Darien-Woodridge Fire District, Hinsdale Fire Department Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, Pleasantview Fire District, Clarendon Hills Fire Department, LaGrange Fire Department, Northwest Homer Fire District, Western Springs Fire Department, and Westmont Fire Department.
