November 4, 2025 / Structure Fire 6800 Block of Clarendon Hills Road At approximately 1728 hours on Tuesday November 4, 2025, the Tri-State Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire in the 6800 block of Clarendon Hills Road in Darien. While fire companies were enroute, the dispatch center advised of a person trapped in the residence.  Upon arrival, the initial company observed heavy smoke coming from the residence with visible fire through the front windows. The crew immediately entered the building to perform a search for the occupant while simultaneously initiating fire suppression activities. The occupant was found and removed from the residence, at which point ambulance personnel commenced medical treatment.  Subsequently, the occupant was transported to Hinsdale Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

The fire was under control approximately 15 minutes after arrival of fire crews. A police officer was also transported to Hinsdale Hospital for smoke inhalation and was later released. Units remained on the scene until approximately 2100 hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.

Tri-State Fire District units were assisted at the scene by units from the Darien-Woodridge Fire District, Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, Pleasantview Fire District, Clarendon Hills Fire Department, Oak Brook Fire Department, and Westmont Fire Department. The Darien Police Department and the Office of the State Fire Marshal also assisted at the scene.
